I’m a real risk taker. I’ll pause and let everyone laugh. Ok, maybe I take risks but they are very calculated. (and this obviously mitigates the risk)
So much has happened since our fateful bike ride along the coast. Amy and I went to Camano Island last weekend to do our ride – I decided that if I can ride the circumference of Camano Island twice, perhaps thrice, I’ll feel prepared for just about anything. This was our hardest ride physically (Westport being the most mentally challenging). I tested my theory on riding South – I was wrong, you can definitely ride UPHILL when riding South (I say these things because I assume that you as the reader understand that I am operating with a certain level of intelligence… CLEARLY).
The views were beautiful, the ride was challenging AND it was satisfying! Toward the end of the ride I realized that I hadn’t captured any of our ride and it was memorable. Fifty percent of the time I opt to keep my camera in my pocket because I realize that my memory will supersede any picture I take. This time I wanted ONE picture. So I called up to Amy and suggested we stop before our last push to the car.
What transpired after this, well, it was perhaps only funny to us, perhaps a moment born out of fatigue, hypoglycemia, dehydration… who knows but we were doubled over on the side of the road in fits of laughter attempting to take ONE decent picture. WTF?!
At some point in our impromptu photo shoot Amy comments “these are going to end up on your blog.” YES! Here they are. (if I didn't laugh, I would be sad)
As we hopped back on our bikes, Amy called out to me as she led us down the hill "we can never be a couple, we don't photograph well together!"
Sigh. If that was ever a reason.
