Let's be honest (5:27 am)

Pets in the bed. Let's be honest, it's problematic for a number of reasons. I really don't condone the practice.

1. Hair
2. Smell
3. Temperature control
4. Freedom of movement
5. Discipline
6. Intimacy
7. Personal space

Soft. Weak. Guilt. Empty. Cold.

Reasons to turn the other way (if you can) when you find yourself pinned down by furry animals curled up in cute little snuggly pet packages:

When you find yourself a stranger to your own home, it is difficult to deny your pet the bonding associated with joining you in your bed.

When you sense a void on the other side of the bed, the space previously occupied by someone else, it can comforting to fill it with your dog. It bridges, it eases.

Some of us are freezing.

So despite preferring freedom of movement, personal space, and crisp, clean, fur free place in which to slumber... sometimes the following unfolds...
