I was under the impression that I would NEED to do laundry yesterday. I had run out of scrubs... and socks... and underwear. Absolutely normal if you maintain a one week supply, but I don't. I can go weeks before running dry. When people talk about adopting a minimalist lifestyle, I think, as long as it doesn't apply to my substantial underwear, sock, scrub and t-shirt supply.
Sigh. Maybe (after sorting my laundry into three piles: dark, light and white - it was daunting) I should check my scrub pile one more time. Just in case. Maybe there is ONE more pair that will spare me from LAUNDRY. HA!!!!!! One. More. Pair. Spared one more day.
My Mom has a laundry aversion. I inherited this trait. That's what I say when I find that I possess these little idiosyncrasies. Err. I inherited this trait or it is a learned behavior. I am becoming more my parents by the day and I can't complain!
Growing up in my house, you were left to your own devices when it came to laundry (as you should be). You couldn't rely on anyone (nor should you). I developed quite a fastidious approach to laundry (which is why it is such a daunting task). My Dad's solution (one that I have adopted) was to purchase more and more (and more) undershirts, underwear and socks.
My Mom has since adopted a more frequent laundry rotation and I am incapable of doing laundry with any regularity.
