After spending 30 minutes assessing my week schedule to justify NOT going to yoga today, I have decided that such an effort is evidence for precisely why I have no choice but to go to yoga. Jazz is the perfect excuse for not attending yoga. She NEEDS a walk. How can I go to yoga? So I have to stop writing at this moment to take my dog for a 30 minute walk before I subject myself to 90 minutes of torture. (I considered briefly the thought of substituting a 1 mile run. Would this be appropriate – it would not be.)
Post-Yoga
So there is no post yoga. I didn’t go to yoga. As you can imagine there were many justifications (excuses). 1. It is beautiful outside.
2. Jazz deserves a long walk (1 hour).
3. I have five more days to fulfill my 3 day/week yoga quota.
4. As of tomorrow, it will be two weeks since my last visit to yoga thus it only makes sense that I start yoga again tomorrow.
5. I need to diversify my exercise activities.
6. I need to start running and one form of exercise per day will suffice.
7. I need to acquire internet – I never make contacting Comcast a priority (they are now coming on Friday).
8. I have several emails to write to include, “can we meet for dinner later so I can go to yoga on Thursday?”
9. I will NOT check facebook with this newly acquired free time (not an excuse but an internal discussion I had with myself.).
10. I will forget my ID, locator and stethoscope AGAIN tonight if I go to yoga (maybe not but the probability goes up).
11. I need to soak my nose (more on this later with pictures).
12. I am entirely unprepared to feed myself for the next 24 hours and will end up at taco truck AGAIN if I go to yoga. (I’ll probably still end up at taco truck unless someone else can suggest a taco truck alternative.)
This week, I've been attributing my flaky tendencies to being overbooked. This implies that I have control over my spaciness thus allowing me to reprimand myself for not being more on the ball. In reality, I think the root cause is more physiological and cannot be helped. So I am going to roll with it and hope everyone around me understands when I forget to respond to emails, show up at work without my stethoscope and ID badge, run out of gas, lose things like my gloves when I am wearing them… yup, it is that kind of week. Yoga probably would have helped!
